Care when it’s urgent, but not an emergency

Receive value-based priority care for non-life-threatening conditions, without the need to visit an emergency department.

The Priority Primary Care Centre (PPCC) at Narregate Medical & Dental Centre in Narre Warren supports the Casey Hospital – Monash Health Emergency Department and is one of ForHealth’s 6 PPCC’s across Victoria.

The PPCC provides free, immediate, treatment and care for patients with or are experiencing non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses. The PPCC is supported by highly skilled independent doctors and nurses, utilising excellent treatment and procedure room facilities.  

The PPCC is open 7 days a week, Monday to Sunday – 8am to 10pm.

You can book online, call or walk-in appointments are also available. Please note ancillary services including radiology may not be open our full operating times, for specific details please refer below.

A nurse will triage and admit to the service if suitable

Some common illnesses or injuries that you can receive priority care for include:

  • Lacerations/cuts requiring stitches
  • Basic fracture management & sprains
  • Minor burns
  • Rashes
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Insect and animal bites
  • Respiratory conditions
  • ENT infections
  • Gastroenteritis
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

When to call Triple Zero (000)

Call Triple Zero (000) or visit your nearest emergency department if you or someone is experiencing the following:

  • Chest pain or tightness
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Uncontrollable bleeding
  • Severe burns
  • Poisoning
  • Unconsciousness or seizures
  • Numbness or paralysis
  • A life-threatening injury
  • On-going fever in infants
  • Unresponsive

Covid 19 Info

If you test positive for COVID-19, it is likely your symptoms will be mild and you can recover safely at home. Visit the healthdirect website for information on managing COVID-19 at home and what to do if your symptoms worsen.


Where can people with respiratory symptoms seek care?

1. Recover Safely at Home – with mild to moderate symptoms care advice can be obtained through the National Coronavirus Helpline 1800 020 080 or by visiting the Healthdirect website COVID-19 | healthdirect


2. Contact your usual GP clinic if you need to see someone, your usual doctor can help – either via a telehealth or face-to-face appointment.


It is important to remember to inform the clinic you have flu-like symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19, wear a mask, and follow your practice’s instructions if you are seeing your doctor face-to-face.

4. If Urgent but not life-threatening symptoms please contact the Virtual Emergency Department online at www.vved.org.au or see a GP at a priority primary care centre.


Please note the Narre Warren Priority Primary Care Centre does NOT provide routine PCR testing. We provide care for people with urgent but not life-threatening conditions.


If you are attending a face-to-face appointment at our PPCC, and have respiratory symptoms, you should inform the clinic, wear a mask and follow the clinic’s protocols. For example, they may be asked to wait in a car or an isolation room.
